We are now going to take a look back at Risa Niigaki’s acting work and other fun activities she has done in her life. For all of her singing activities that she had performed with Morning Musume, famous Japanese pop music singer Risa Niigaki announced on May 28, 2012 that she wants to now focus on an acting career. She mentioned also that she wants to accept and take in many things from her co-stars and she also wants to express her own creativity.
Briefly About Risa Niigaki’s Acting Work
On that same day, she also appeared at a press conference for the movie called “Tobidase Shinsegumi.” This movie is based on a novel written by Jotaro Kuwahara. The director for this movie would be Shou Nobushi. Filming was expected to commence in Fujisawa on August 20, 2012. Filming would be in four other cities including Enoshima and Kamakura. The plot is basically about an all-female kind of theater troupe who begin to rehearse for “Musical Shinsegumi Makoto” when suddenly the real members from this group resurface and appear from a time period known as the late Edo period. This would be the pop singer’s first movie appearance in over two years. Niigaki who is a Yokohama native, said that she has visited Enoshima often for field trips during her elementary school years. She expressed her love for the Enoshima Aquarium. During her time with Morning Musume, she worked for one day on a part-time basis at a beach house. She said that she wants to go there for a date in the future. The movie would open in Kanagawa sometime in 2013 and then soon after theaters in the rest of Japan would be showing the movie.

Niigaki would be taking part in a play called Tumbling Vol. 3. The play would be performed first at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C from August 8-12 2012 first. And then, it would also be performed in Osaka at Theater Brava! from August 17-19 of that year.
Another Interesting Part of Risa Niigaki’s Life Worth Mentioning
Risa Niigaki, the famous Japanese pop music singer and once band leader of Morning Musume has been doing some very interesting things the last several years. She has had a couple of “dates.” The first one that she wrote about was with singer Ai Takahashi. Ai Takahashi of course was also part of Morning Musume until her graduation from the group a while after these get togethers were made public. Risa commented that since she had recorded the song “All Night Nippon” that there was some free time for the two of them to spend until the start of a festival that they were supposed to go to. The food that Takahashi and Niigaki had was described by her as “cheesy Hamburg Steak.” She uploaded a photo of the two on her blog having lunch together and on their plates were also some broccoli. It makes you hungry to read about this doesn’t it? This first encounter that the pop music beauty had with her former band mate and friend was in January 2011. It may seem like a long time ago for some of us but two years is actually a short time. At least that’s how it was when I first read and wrote about this story but now we are in 2024, times have passed. The second such “date” that Niigaki went out on was with then new member and member of the group’s 9th generation Riho Sayashi at that time. It was on May 1, 2011 that Niigaki, Sayashi, and their manager had stepped out to eat what was described as a “quick dinner” when they were in between jobs. This marked the first time for Niigaki and Sayashi eating dinner together outside of work. The three mentioned people had dinner at a Korean restaurant. What amazed Niigaki so much was that Sayashi ate and ate in spite of her very thin frame and body. Risa Niigaki went on to say that Sayashi had two servings of rice and drank both cola and orange juice. Niigaki was very happy to see this as Sayashi was only 13 years old at the time and she needed to eat to grow. Sayashi also became addicted to playing with an iPhone.
