As I type this, there is a new Morning Musume member that will be joining the group. I’m pretty happy to hear about it myself, being a fan of the group since 2010. At this time, the new Morning Musume member that will be joining the group is Rio Sakurai who is 16 years old. Morning Musume has been holding a joint audition with girl group Juice=Juice since January of this year.

There will be two new members that will be joining Juice=Juice this year. They are Akari Endo, 14, and Sakura Ishiyama who is 13 years old. Ishiyama is what is called a HelloPro Trainee at the moment. From this point forward, Morning Musume will carry out their activities with 13 members.

These new members will be introduced during a concert tour for Hello! Project. This event is called Hello! Project 2022 Summer CITY CIRCUIT. This tour is set to commence on July 9, 2022 at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall.
Congratulations to both Morning Musume and Juice=Juice.
UPDATE: As of June 29, 2023, Rio Sakurai released her first solo photo book called Rio 17sai. Rio Sakurai was born November 11, 2005 which now makes her 18 years old.
